Interns programme

Each year WIFTAI calls for applications for students to participate in its annual internship programme.

The programme is aimed at female students in their final year of study and aims to provide them with opportunities to learn by introducing them to both the people and the workings of the industry.

Participants contribute a small amount of volunteer time each month during the academic year, working on allocated WIFTAI programmes and activities.

In return, interns receive complimentary invitations to key networking and other events, opportunities to work with and meet people from the industry, and to assess career paths.  

The internship programme offers invaluable experience with, and exposure to, key contacts and is a core programme for WIFTAI as part of a commitment to growing women's participation and skills.

Applications accepted will be notified of their placement by the 1st of April by email.

•  Duration of Internship: 2 months MAY & JUNE
•  Stipend: Yes. The amount will be decided by the respective HR managers.
•  Contract: Yes. A contract of the internship will be drawn between the successful applicant and company giving the internship. 
•  Application fee: Rs 100
•  Only for WIFT members – both professional and student
•  Deadline to submit applications: 1st March 2013

Process of selection

• Applicants fill out the online form and email it to internship@wift.co.in 
• PR and Communication applicants need to submit a 1000 word essay in word.doc format. TOPIC : 100 Years of Indian Cinema. My take
• WIFT India team will shortlist applications and will have a telephonic interview with the 
• shortlisted applicants.
• 5 Shortlisted applications per position will be sent over to respective HR managers who will select the applicants and call them for an interview. 
•  Selected interns will be informed and will have to submit 2 photographs to WIFT India office before starting the internship.

Terms & Conditions

• In return, interns work with the WIFT India office on a variety of endeavours, providing time and energy up to 5 hours per month for 2013. Areas of support include event management, lobbying and advocacy, publicity and communications, sponsorship, and administration support.
• Participants are expected to be responsible for particular areas of activity and timetable these obligations alongside their academic commitments.
• Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate commitment, initiative and passion. Applications will be accepted from students at all tertiary institutions although it should be noted that applicants from outside Mumbai will need to show the ability to work on tasks such as communications and event delivery rather than general administration.
